To use a background on video calls, please see the instructions below.


1. Save the following image to your files or download another professional background image.


Change your background before a meeting starts

  1. While you’re setting up your video and audio before joining a meeting, select Background effects Background settings . It’s just to the right of the mic switch. Your background options will display on the right.
  2. Choose Blur to blur your background. You’ll appear nice and clear while everything behind you is subtly concealed.
  3. You can also replace your background with one of the images provided, or with one of your own choosing. To use an image of your own, choose Add new and then select one to upload from your computer. Make sure it’s a .JPG, .PNG, or .BMP file.
  4. Your new background will persist in all your meetings and calls until you change it again.
  5. To turn off background effects, select   Option for turning off background effect .

Change your background during a meeting

  1. To alter your background after you’ve already joined a meeting, go to your meeting controls and select More actions  More options button  > Show background effects.
  2. Select Blur to blur your background, or choose from the available images to replace it. To upload an image of your own, select Add new and pick a .JPG, .PNG, or .BMP file from your computer.
  3. To turn off background effects, select   Option for turning off background effect .
  4. You’ll be able to preview your chosen background to see how it looks before you apply it.



Before joining a meeting

  1. Sign in to Zoom desktop client.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Virtual Background.
  4. Click on an image to select the desired virtual background or add your own image by clicking +Add Image.
  5. To disable Virtual Background, choose the option None.


After joining a meeting

  1. At the bottom of the client, click the up arrow next to Stop Video.
  2. Select Change Virtual Background.
  3. In the Virtual Background tab, select one of Zoom’s defaults or upload your own image.
  4. If you have a green screen set-up, you can select that option.
  5. To add your own image or video, click the + icon to upload from your computer
